Although that is a very important consideration when shopping for a garage door, a lot of folks forget about an equally important part of the garage door and that is the garage door weather seal system.

Some of the important areas to ensure a proper garage door weather stripping system are;

• A good heavy rubber seal on the bottom of the garage door that’s designed to last for several years, but can also be easily replaced when it does wear out.

• A weather stripping seal in between the garage door sections. The best doors will have a double seal in between each of the door sections to minimize air flow between the garage door panels.

• There should also be a good garage door weather stripping around the perimeter of the garage door. Our garage doors use a double fin weather seal that compresses up against the door when it’s closed to provide a good seal. For long term use it’s important that these seals are able to withstand extreme heat and cold for a long period of time. It’s also important that your garage door weather seal can easily be replaced when it eventually wears out.
